Lumina Live

Before the service: a checklist

What to get ready the day before and check half an hour before, so nothing fails mid-service.

A few minutes of preparation prevent almost every problem mid-service.

The day before

  1. Build the schedule and save it (how).

  2. Convert the presentations ahead of time: in Media › Presentations, click Prepare folder.

  3. Open every video in the schedule once: if any of them needs converting, let it finish before the service.

  4. If you'll play a heavy video on a low-powered computer, try it in Settings › System › Test video.

  5. Keep the files on the computer if you can: if they're on a USB stick that isn't plugged in, the app marks them Missing.

Half an hour before

  1. Connect the projector and turn it on, with the computer extending the display (how).

  2. Open Lumina Live and the service's schedule.

  3. Click LOGO: the projection opens with the church logo. If it shows up on the wrong screen, change it in Settings › Projection (how).

  4. Test the sound with a video or an audio file, and set the volume.

  5. Close the programs you're not using and silence the computer's notifications.

During the service

  • Get the next thing ready in Preview while the current one stays live.
  • B covers the screen instantly if something shouldn't be seen.
  • If the projector disconnects, what was live keeps playing and the picture comes back by itself when you reconnect it.
  • Don't change the Conversion quality on the day of the service: it forces every presentation to be converted again.
