Install on Linux
The .deb package for Ubuntu, Debian and Linux Mint, or the AppImage for other distributions. On Linux it's still experimental.
Warning: On Linux, Lumina Live is still experimental: in automated tests, the projection and control windows closed by themselves with a presentation on screen, which doesn't happen on Windows or macOS. Test it thoroughly before using it in a service. More in Linux: known issues.
Ubuntu, Debian or Linux Mint: the .deb package
Download
Lumina-Live-linux-amd64.debfrom Download.Install it from the terminal, in the folder you downloaded it to:
sudo apt install ./Lumina-Live-linux-amd64.deb. You can also open it with a double-click, if your system installs.debfiles that way.Open Lumina Live from the applications menu.
The package installs to /opt/lumina-live and sets up the security sandbox the app uses, including the AppArmor profile on Ubuntu 24.04 or later. Use the .deb whenever you can.
Other distributions: the AppImage
Download
Lumina-Live-linux-x86_64.AppImage.Make it executable, from the file's properties or with
chmod +x Lumina-Live-linux-x86_64.AppImage.Open it with a double-click or with
./Lumina-Live-linux-x86_64.AppImage.
Warning: On Ubuntu 24.04 or later, the AppImage doesn't start: the system blocks its security sandbox. Use the .deb. Opening the AppImage with --no-sandbox works, but it turns off a security protection.
LibreOffice on Linux
Install LibreOffice from your distribution's repositories (for example, sudo apt install libreoffice). The Flatpak or Snap versions don't work: they're isolated from the rest of the system and can't convert presentations.
