A video won't play or stutters
Videos that won't start, take a while to be ready, stutter or have no sound: what to check.
“…is still converting”
Formats that can't be played as they are get converted in the background, and until they finish they can't GO LIVE. Open the video in Preview to move it to the front of the queue, and wait until it reaches 100%. For the service, open the videos the day before.
**Not converted**
| Reason | What to do |
|---|---|
| “The file may be damaged, or the disk may be full.” | Free up some space and click Retry. If it still fails, try opening the video in another program: it may be damaged. |
| “The file is no longer where it was.” | Locate it. |
| “The app's converter is missing…” | Reinstall Lumina Live. |
“Couldn't play the file”
The projector couldn't open the video. The app doesn't change what's showing, so you can decide: send something else live or click LOGO. Afterwards, try the video in Preview or report it.
It stutters or skips
Try it in Settings › System › Test video: it tells you whether the computer handles it well.
Turn off Moving video on the Live monitor, in the same section: the monitor stops playing a second copy, and the projector doesn't change.
On a laptop with two graphics cards, choose the more powerful one for Lumina Live in the Windows graphics settings.
Close the other programs.
There's no sound
- Check the volume and Mute on the video's row, under the Live monitor.
- In Preview, videos make no sound: the sound only comes out once they're live.
- BLACK and LOGO pause the video. Click LIVE.
- Sound comes out of the computer's audio output: choose the speakers or HDMI in the system's sound settings.
