Lumina Live

Your data and backups

Where Lumina Live keeps your schedules and your library, what happens to your files and how to make a backup.

Where it's kept

Everything you build in the app (schedules, library, imported Bibles, scenes, overlays and options) is saved in a folder called worship-app, the app's internal name:

SystemFolder
Windows%APPDATA%\worship-app
macOS~/Library/Application Support/worship-app
Linux~/.config/worship-app

The easiest way to open it: Settings › About › Open logs folder.

Your files aren't copied

The library keeps track of where each file is, not a copy of it. If you move, rename or delete a video or a presentation, the app marks it Missing (what to do). Removing something from the library never deletes the file from the disk.

What the app does keep in its folder are the converted slides and the copies of the videos it had to convert.

Backups

When a new version has to update the database, the app first saves a verified copy in the backups folder by itself (it keeps the last three). There's no export button; to have your own copy:

  1. Close Lumina Live.

  2. Copy the whole worship-app folder to a USB stick or to the cloud.

  3. Copy your files too (videos, presentations, images): they aren't inside that folder.

Move everything to another computer

There's no automatic way yet. You can copy the worship-app folder to the same location on the other computer, with the app closed on both: the schedules, Bibles, scenes, overlays and options come along. The library's files are looked for in the same folders as on the original computer; if they aren't there, they show as Missing and you have to locate them one by one.

Warning: This hasn't been tested between two different computers yet: keep a copy before you replace anything.
